In this blog post I will try my best to "Show" you each topic.
A FAMILIAR PLACE:
I pull up outside to see the full grown pink and red rose bushes. I step out of the car to the sound of kids playing and dogs barking. I walk through the front door and smell the mouthwatering deliciousness in the air. I get hungry from the smell. It could be anything from chocolate chip cookies to pumpkin bread. My mom makes the best desserts.
Me: "Hi Mom! Did you miss me?"
Mom: (smirks) " oh yea, it's been forever! We haven't seen each other since...what? Yesterday?"
Me: (laughs)
I see my mom almost everyday. And if I don't see her her we talk a few times on the phone.
Me: "What smells so good?"
Mom: "There's pumpkin bread in the oven. It should be done in a few minutes."
Me: "Yessss!! You made me a loaf to take home, right?
Mom: "of course! Anything for my favorite!"
A STRANGE PLACE:
I walk down the stairs into the bright but gloomy subway. It's late at night and somehow this once overcrowded space has become spookily quiet. As I move forward I hear each of my own footsteps on what feels like a never ending walk on the platform. I sit on the bench and can hear the air passing my ears as it is so oddly quiet. I hear a few giggles in the distance and see a young couple on a bench from afar.
HONK!!!!!!
The train has arrived.
